Husband. Father. Business Owner.
Your City Council Representative.

I’m Joe Ruddy, and I’m running for re-election to Ankeny City Council so that we as the people of Ankeny can continue building on the progress we’ve made together these last 4 years.

My wife Jenny and I are proud to call Ankeny home, where we’re raising our son and daughter as part of this community and its schools. Like so many of you, I care deeply about the safety, well-being, and the future of this city.

I currently serve on the Ankeny City Council as well as the Des Moines Wastewater Reclamation Authority Board, the Metro Waste Authority Board, and the Iowa League of Cities Executive Board. I also mentor through Hope Kids at Lutheran Church of Hope. Professionally, I’m the founder and CEO of FaRM Success, an agricultural advisory and financial risk firm based here in Des Moines.

When I was first encouraged to run for city council, I promised to listen to those who asked me to do so and to those who wanted positive change in their community. I promised to work hard, and to put our city first. Thanks to the feedback of Ankeny residents and our collaborative council team, we’ve delivered on those promises by working toward the lowest tax levy in the metro, improving infrastructure by utilizing our transportation master plan, continuously supporting public safety, and focusing solely on what keeps Ankeny growing strong.

I’m running for re-election to continue this progress with our city council and to make sure our city remains as one of the best places to live, work, and raise a family in this state and in the country. Our city’s future is bright, and I’d be grateful for your continued trust by voting for me on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025.
